Medical facilities in the territory reported that Israeli strikes killed at least a dozen people on Saturday, marking one of the deadliest incidents following a fall truce deal aimed at stopping the conflict.

Details of the Strikes

The missiles hit locations in northern and southern Gaza, such as an apartment building in Gaza City and a tent in Khan Younis, according to medical authorities which received the victims. Among the dead were two women and six children from separate households.

Warplanes conducted further strikes, with forces issuing an alert to leave for a building in Khan Younis, ahead of an assault.

Rising Toll During Truce Efforts

The strikes came a day before a border crossing is expected to open in Gaza’s south, a reminder that the fatalities is continuing to climb while a ceasefire agreement slowly progresses.

Every entry points have been shut since the start of the war, and Palestinians see the Rafah passage with Egypt as a lifeline for the tens of thousands in need of medical care beyond the territory because most of its healthcare system has been destroyed by aerial assaults.

Authorities aim to guarantee that the number of people exiting exceeds those entering, as per reports, which said the goal is to allow only 150 Palestinians into Gaza through Rafah each day.

Hospital Accounts

One major medical center reported an aerial attack on Gaza City killed a woman, three children and one of their relatives on Saturday morning. Separately, a hospital in Khan Younis said a hit in a tent camp sparked a fire, killing seven, among them a father, his three children and three young relatives.

Health authorities have recorded more than 500 Palestinians dead from military action since the beginning of the ceasefire on a date in October.

The armed forces did not immediately respond to inquiries about the strikes.

Truce Agreement and Future Vision

Despite repeated lethal incidents involving Palestinians in violation of the autumn truce, the deal has entered a pivotal second phase. Some of the thorniest issues are contained in this stage, which would necessitate the governing authority to disarm and transfer control to a proposed Board of Peace organisation.

A recently outlined vision showed a blueprint for “developing Gaza”, complete with modern towers and corniches along the Mediterranean.

Context of Devastation

Most of Gaza has been levelled and essential services remains non-functional as a consequence of aerial campaigns over the past two years, which has also killed more than seventy thousand people. Previously, a United Nations investigation determined that Israel had committed a genocide in Gaza.
