Within the extremely competitive world of gaming, it's typical for new contenders to vanish as swiftly as they explode onto the landscape.
But this new installment is aiming to change that.
This is the latest entry in a long-running military shooter line commonly positioned as a more realistic answer to its main competitor.
The franchise has never quite been able to match its best-known competitor in terms of revenue or user base, but indicators suggest the recent entry could reduce the distance.
A preview weekend allowing players a shot to experience the game not long ago set new benchmarks, and the buzz heading into its release has been massive.
But the undertaking is nevertheless a significant risk for publisher Electronic Arts, which has allegedly spent huge sums of money producing it.

Production Team and Company Cooperation
Four studios were developing the title under the collaborative initiative.

Responding To Past Mistakes
This title arrives after the release of the futuristic the last installment, released four years ago to a negative response it had difficulty to overcome.
"It's likely that we would not be able to build and design the latest entry lacking the lessons we had in the previous title," Rebecka tells us.
Among those lessons was to get fans engaged soon, and the developers started exclusive community playtests in recent months.
Their "response was incredibly favorable," says the manager.
A further omitted element from the last game was a story mode, which has been reintroduced for this release.
The UK studio design director Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the individual responsible for "ensuring those missions are as enjoyable and interesting as possible for the players."
Regardless of reports that the scale of the project had put a strain on the different studios collaborating across continents to develop the project, he is positive about the process.
"Working with diverse cultures, different experiences, it's a truly fascinating setting to be part of on a regular basis," he shares.
"This whole strategy has been an innovation but something very exciting because we are collaborating with individuals from internationally."
Concerning the pressure on the team, Fas states: "There is stress but also it's exciting.
"This is a major venture. It's likely the most significant that most of us have previously participated in."
Emerging Artist Adds Fresh View
That's certainly correct of no less than an individual developer, lighting artist Vlad Kokhan.
The 21-year-old makes the visual ambiance that shape the atmosphere, tone, and direction of the story mode.
He undertook an work placement at Criterion before getting a role there, and presently operates with reduced hours while finishing his visual effects degree at the university.
Vlad says he's a dedicated fan of the franchise, and recollects experiencing the earlier title of the series at a buddy's place when he was in his youth.
